Weekend Outing to Sequim …Part 1
Last weekend, we went for another day trip to a nearby town. Here in the Pacific Northwest, ferries are a common way to travel. Lil’ C loves the ferry so off we go…..
You drive your car onto the ferry …..
Then you can wait in your car, or go to the upper deck where they have plenty of seating or you can enjoy the view at the front. Even though the ride is only 30 min, the ferry is very well-equipped. It has a cafe and even free wi-fi.
A couple of views of the downtown Seattle from the ferry. See the Space Needle??
Where were we going?? To see this……………

White Lavenders
Aren’t they beautiful??? They smell really good too. Unfortunately, we went too early in the season, so majority of the lavender plants were more like this ……….. : (
Will have to try to go back & visit in mid-July. Hopefully it will be in full bloom. So ended up nothing much to see. Decided to go to another place. Guess where we ended up? See part 2…
But before we left, I couldn’t resist taking this picture. The whole house setting looks so beautiful. Like a painting!! I think it must be the owner’s house. See his front yard? All surrounded by lavenders… how nice. No need to buy air freshener for the house!! hehe….

hmm…surely the purple lavenda smells nice!! How wonderful it is to live in a cold country !
yah agreed with mummy2qiqi… so nice to live in a cold country, what a wonderful trip.:)
nice trip. the ferry ride reminds me of the ferry from penang island to butterworth in the old days. now if i do go, we only use the penang bridge.
those purple lavender smells very nice one. can’t wait to read your part 2.
WAh seh, so beautiful lavender and beautiful house too.
Beautiful pix. I’ve never seen or smelled real lavenders before. Do they smell as nice as the lavender aromatheraphy oils?
Wow, I really love those pictures of the lavender flowers! I have yet to see them in real life, but those pictures really makes me feel as though I am in a field of lavenders!
mummy to qiqi: The lavender smells very nice. Yep, I think there’s a lot more things to do here. : )
anggie: yep, it was fun.
whoisbaby: Are u from Penang? I’ve only been there once – to eat!! haha..
HQ: ya, very nice hor?
Health freak mommy: The fresh ones smell good but I think the aromatherapy oils smell a little stronger. They have a little shop there & when u walk in, it smells so… good ‘cos it was all lavender products.
giddy tigers: TQ. I’ve seen lavenders in shops but this is the 1st time I’ve seen a lavender field too.
Wow…nice photos. Like how you captured the plants
So much to do in the summer eh?
I thought I left a comment here yesterday but something must have gone wrong. Over here, lavender is now a big thing for cooking, salad dressing, tea….etc, etc.

mommy to chumsy: Thanks! Yep, have to try to enjoy the warmer weather b4 the cold comes back.
judy: Ya, I’ve seen them in food b4 but I’ve never tried to do it myself. Will have to try it out one day.
