Photo Hunters: Plastic

by CJ on 14 September, 2007

For this week’s , it seems appropriate to showcase my little gal’s lunch box since this is her first week at pre-school.

Actually for these few years, I’ve been trying to avoid buying plasticware because they tend to stain and sometimes their shape gets warped after a few times in the dishwasher. Yes, I throw mine in the dishwasher ‘cos I”m too lazy to handwash them! :P But for these cute plastic Bento box and accessories, I’ll gladly handwash them. LOL!

Just a little info about Bento. According to wiki, they are a packed meal where food are arranged in a pretty manner thus making them more appealing to eat. It started in Japan but seems to have spread all over the world now. The pink box on the corner is the actual plastic Bento box. The others are all plastic accessories ranging from bottles for sauces, little bowls for dips and little forks & toothpicks. The little yellow box with the tulip on top actually cuts a hot dog into a tulip shape. There’s a lot more accessories out that are not in my collection.

So, here’s my bento. Cute, eh? I’m still new at this bento thing, so I’m probably not doing it correctly but my little gal loves it. As long as she eats her lunch, that’s what matters!! :)

In case you are wondering what’s for lunch, it’s turkey sandwich and cheese, celery with peanut butter, cherry tomatoes on a stick with dressing. :)

Thanks to everyone for visiting!! Have a great weekend. :)

Thanks! Actually they are not a set. Everything is bought separately. You can get these Bento supplies at eBay or if you are in the West Coast, the Daiso stores have them

Jennifer September 14, 2007 at 7:52 pm

I just bought that bento box today! I want your accessories… I’ve only ever seen the squid/octopus hot dog cutters, and those creep me out.

Also, if she likes it, it’s “correct”. That’s my theory anyways!

Yep, I agree with ur theory! :) I haven’t seen those cutters b4. Will have to look out for them

eastcoastlife September 14, 2007 at 8:07 pm

The whole lunch set is so cute! And the lunch is attractive to a little kid. Our kids in Singapore don’t bring lunch to school. Food is cheap and easily available.

Patricia (of Pollywog Creek) September 14, 2007 at 8:35 pm

That is absolutely adorable, and it looks like you prepared a very nutritious meal to serve in it, too. Blessings on your weekend.

Hi! Thanks for dropping by my blog. Is really nice bento set. Where do you bought it. My lil girl is going to preschool next year and she is 3 by then. I thought I can make something like what you did for your princess. At least the kids will eat when they see it so attractive.

I got mine at Daiso in Vancouver. You’re in KL, right? I think u can find them at the 100 yen stores in KL or the Daiso in Spore. Thanks for dropping by! :)
