Too much dust!

Published by under Useful Links,V

I was dusting yesterday when I realized that there’s so much dust on my TV. I just dusted last week so I was surprised at the amount of dust. I think it’s due to the construction going on behind my house. I wish I have a plasma TV and plasma tv lifts that can hide the TV away when I am not using it. That way, the dust would not be accumulating on the TV and I would not have to dust so much!!

Shop at OpticsPlanet

Published by under I,Useful Links

I was surfing the internet for a cool Christmas gift for my nephew when I came across Optics Planet. Wow, I was truly amazed by the wide variety of flashlights they offer. They have flashlights of every size for every usage like the tactical flashlights, LED flashlights and many more. I think my nephew will really like the mounted head flashlights or maybe he might like the binoculars and telescopes more. I guess I better check with him before buying. Optics Planet is also currently offering free ground shipping on all orders of $29.95 or more. Hey, that’s good news to me. With my long Christmas list, I’ll take all the savings I can get

Alexa vs RealRank

Published by under Blog Stuff

Frankly I am confused about the whole ranking issue. Currently my RealRank and Alexa are totally going in the opposite direction. My highest Alexa has the lowest RealRank while the lowest Alexa has the highest RR. And don’t even bother talking about PR. That’s even more confusing. Hmm… talk about mindboggling!! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to figure how all those numbers out!

Lost weight

Published by under Useful Links,V

Recently I met an old friend at the mall and I was surprised to see that she has lost some weight. She told me that she has been taking hoodia diet pills. Frankly this is the first time I’ve heard of Hoodia. I did some research and found that it is an appetite suppressant. Even though I would love to lose weight, I am not sure if appetite suppressants are for me since I love food! LOL! I guess I should just spend more time in the gym instead.

Freeze dried rambutan?

Published by under Interesting Stuff

Look what I found!! Freeze-dried rambutan!! I came across this while doing my grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s a few days ago. I’ve seen freeze-dried mango and I know there’s freeze dried durian but this is the 1st time I’ve seen rambutan. Unfortunately I didn’t buy it so I don’t know how it taste. Anyone else tried it? Is it like the real thing?

Do your research before you buy

Published by under BG,Useful Links

I have to admit I still have one of those huge ancient bulky TV at home. It’s taking up a lot of space and definitely a pain when I need to move it. Nowadays with the HDTV prices getting lower and lower, maybe it’s about time I get rid of that monster and buy a samsung HDTV.
Whenever I need to buy a big-ticket item like a TV, I usually will turn to the internet first to gather as much information as I can. Once I have gathered and analyzed the information, I will go to the store to do a final evaluation before purchasing it. Sounds like a big hassle? Not if you are using Krillion.com. Krillion Localization Engine makes my purchase easy by providing comprehensive product information, its pricing and even the local store location for me to shop. If you are shopping for TV or other electronics, don’t forget to do your research at Krillion first.

Getting our Christmas tree

Published by under Interesting Stuff

A few years ago, we got a real tree for Christmas and we loved it. The fresh scent of the tree is so nice. Last 2 years, we didn’t get a tree because we were out of the country. This Christmas, we’ll be staying put, so we decided to get a live tree again this year. Instead of buying the tree from those temporary tree stalls, we thought we should at least experience cutting our own tree once. After all they do have lots of Christmas tree farms here so off to the tree farm we went. :)

At the Christmas tree farm, we were given a saw and then we were off on our own to choose our tree.  There were different varieties of trees.

The difference between the varieties are the needles. This is the Douglas Fir, I think. The needles are thin and pretty soft.

This is the Fraser Fir. The needles are shorter and stubbier. We ended up choosing Fraser Fir because it doesn’t bend easily since the needles are firmer. So when we hang the ornaments, the branches doesn’t droop so much from the weight of the ornament.

After a long search, we finally found our tree!! The right height, right width, looks symmetrical, full bodied etc…. :P Saw…saw…saw….DH doing all the hard work. :)

TIMBER!!!!!

Tree’s all netted up and secured on the top of our car. Time to go…….

Photo Hunters: Hot

Published by under Photo Hunter,Photography

My favorite HOT place during the cold winter. I love fireplaces but I do have mixed feelings about my new fireplace. It’s actually a gas fireplace which means it lights up with just a touch of an on/off switch. All those logs are fake. On one hand, I love the cleanliness and efficiency of it. It even runs on battery if we ever have a power outage!! On the other hand, I miss the crackling sound of the log as it burns & the occasional toasting of marshmallow!! :)

It’s 35F degrees now and there’s frost on the ground so what else can be more comforting than a HOT pot meal. Hot pot aka Chinese fondue aka steamboat usually consists of a pot of stock simmering on a portable gas stove set in the middle of the dining table. In my case, I use 2 different type of stocks, one chicken broth & the other is a super spicy broth. Then all sorts of raw vegetables, meats, seafood are added to the pot to cook. When cooked, the food are removed & eaten with a dipping sauce. It’s the best meal for winter!! Warms you right up!! :)

Thanks for visiting my . Have a great weekend!

I need furniture

Published by under Useful Links,V

Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day. Besides having his favorite turkey dinner, my husband’s other favorite thing to do is to watch football. Unfortunately this year, since we haven’t bought our sofa yet, he had to watch football sitting on the floor. He was very uncomfortable sitting on the floor for so long and I am sure that he wished that he was sitting on comfortable home theater furniture instead. Maybe next year his wish will come true.
