Just My Rambling

I have sensitive skin. Whenever I wash dishes, my skin will have a bad reaction. That’s why I depend a lot on my dishwasher. However, there are some dishes and silverware that are too delicate to be washed in the dishwasher. That’s when I need to put on my disposable gloves and start washing the dishes by hand. At least with the gloves, my skin is not in direct contact with the soapy water, thus minimizing the bad reaction. Hopefully someday I will be able to find a proper  solution to heal my sensitive skin.

I love to travel to different destinations but there are some vacation spots that I could just revisit many times without getting bored. One of them is the beachfront resorts. Unfortunately the beachfront resorts tend to fill up really fast during the holidays so it is hard to book at the last minute. Maybe I should check to see if there are any condos for sale by the beach to keep as a vacation home. That way I will always have a place to stay whenever I feel like going away to the beach for a vacation.

We’re off on our vacation tomorrow. Oops, today since it’s already midnight!! I’m not done packing yet. I am finishing up my laundry, so I might as well blog and finish my assignments while waiting for my dryer to beep. Hurry up!!

Hopefully the airport is not too packed with people but just in case it is, we’re planning to arrive there very early. This time of the year is usually the busiest travel season. I should be able to blog at my destination, hopefully! 

It’s Christmas Eve already! So here’s wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!  

Since moving into my new house, I have been taking my own sweet time in decorating the house. It’s been nine months and I am finally almost done except for the kitchen. I left the kitchen to the last because that is the place I spend a lot of my time. That means that the decor has to be something that I really like. Lately I have been thinking of decorating it with a southwestern theme with some chili pepper accessories. What do you think? Maybe I should just buy them first and see if I like them in my kitchen before I make the final decision.

Every year during the holiday season, I will definitely gain weight from all the delicious festive food. Usually the food fest starts from Thanksgiving and goes all the way to New Year’s Day. This year it’s even worse because of the many birthday parties & school parties. Maybe I should take ephedra diet pills to lose some weight. On second thoughts, maybe I should not. I’ll just start eating a smaller portion and try not to be tempted by desserts.

We went shopping today and it was a nightmare trying to find parking spots at the mall. I guess everyone is out trying to finish up their Christmas shopping since it’s only 2 more days till Christmas. I was watching the news yesterday and it said that about 16% of the people only start shopping for Christmas presents the day before Christmas. I’m not sure where they got the stats from but it’s very interesting that so many people shop at the last minute.

Do you have a dream vacation? Well, I do!! Actually I have several dream vacations in mind. One of my dream vacation is to go on a ski vacation and stay in a gorgeous ski resort in Europe. Personally I have never been to Europe but I have seen beautiful photos of their ski resorts there. So I would love to make a trip there.

My husband will be making a business trip to Europe next year. Maybe I can convince him to take a short vacation after his business is done. We could spend a week at the beautiful Courchevel chalet in France, go skiing, enjoy great dining and mostly just relaxing and marvel at the gorgeous scenery. That sounds like a good plan, isn’t it? I am going to check out Supertravel for more information right now. They are dedicated to arranging the best ski holidays, so I am sure they will help fulfill my dream.

Last night was a very long night because my little girl was sick. She threw up a couple of time in the middle of the night. So I was up all night taking care of her and also doing multiple loads of laundry soiled from her puke! Sigh…. She’s better today. Hopefully she’s 100% better by tomorrow because we leave for our vacation soon.

I was at the mall last week when I noticed a Store Closing Down sign at one of the shops. That sign seems rather prevalent nowadays. Every time I come across it, I always wonder the real reason for the store closure. Being a business major, I can’t help but think that some of the businesses could have been saved if they have a proper business performance management. At least through that, they could have identified any problem areas and solved them before it’s too late.

Currently I am living in a 3 storey house. Everyday I get a lot of exercise running up and down 3 flights of stairs. I am still young so it’s not a problem for me but if my parents or in-laws ever move in with us, it will be a problem for them. They will probably not be able to climb up and down the stairs freely due to their age. Maybe I will have to think about installing a stair lift
so that it will be easier for them to go from one floor to another.
