The good thing about being snowed in is that I get a lot of work done especially on my blogs. I have been neglecting my blogs ever since the holiday season. I don’t know why but I seem to out a lot!
I haven’t been spending much time at home. This past weekend was probably our first weekend at home in a long time. We had been doing a lot of sledding, shopping and travelling the last few weekends. So it’s really catch-up time today. I’m finally all caught up on all my assignments and I’m trying to update my blogs. Maybe I should get stuck at home more!!! NOT!!!

Both my parents and my in-laws are planning to visit us this year. When they visit, they’ll probably stay for a couple months. I have been thinking whether I should get some short term insurance for them when they visit. That way they can at least get some medical attention if they happen to fall sick during their visit. Here it’s really hard to visit the doctor without any medical insurance. That’s what happened to my mom during her last visit. She fell ill but we couldn’t bring her to our regular doctor since she doesn’t have any insurance. Luckily she recovered with the help of over-the-counter medication. If she had been seriously ill, we would have been in trouble. I guess I should discuss with my husband and see what he thinks.

Last year my friend bought an old house. She loved that house and was so excited about buying it. Unfortunately during the house inspection, she discovered that there were asbestos in the house. Since she really loved the house, she was thinking about hiring a professional to remove the asbestos. I am a little weary though. I think she might want to consider doing a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment on the house just to get a thorough overview of the environment condition of her house and its surroundings. That way she can make sure that her house is in a perfect environmental condition when she moves in.

I really can’t believe it’s snowing again. Last night, we accumulated about 4 inches of snow and now there’s more? This year has been a really wierd year weatherwise. Usually we only get 1-2 snowfalls every winter. I think this is probably the 4th snowfall this year. I wonder if it’s because we are living in higher elevation this year or maybe it’s just a year of crazy weather. DH couldn’t go to work today because of the snow. Looks like he might have to work from home again tomorrow.

Did you know that the heart disease is the #1 killer of American women and men? That’s a scary thought but the good news is that you can help to prevent this disease by learning more about it and taking steps to reduce the risks. That is exactly why the American Heart Association began the Go Red for Woman movement in 2004. Their goal is to empower women with knowledge and tools in order for them to reduce their risk of a heart attack.
This year, Campbell is teaming up with Grammy-award winner Toni Braxton and designer Lisa Perry to support the Go Red for Women campaign. Lisa Perry has created three exclusive red dress designs and everyone in America is invited to vote for their favorite dress at GoRedWithCampbells.com from December 20, 2007 to January 30, 2008. Campbell will donate $1 to the American Heart Association for each vote cast, up to $100,000. Toni Braxton will then kick off the American Heart Month in February wearing America’s favorite red dress.
So, do your part and head over to GoRedWithCampbells.com to cast your vote today. You might just save a life.

We were driving out of the church parking lot when I noticed these trees. I think they just look so cool. Bald trees against a gloomy cloudy background. Looks like something from a painting, don’t you think?

Thanks for visiting and have a great week ahead, everyone.

This was a hard theme for me but I think this will fit the theme. It’s probably more antique than old-fashioned. I found this on display while visiting a local winery. Thanks for visiting my PhotoHunt. Have a great weekend!

Ever since I had my little girl, I find that I always end up shopping for her clothes instead of buying for myself. That’s why she has been wearing all the nice clothes while poor mommy has been wearing old clothes!! Is this a normal first-time mommy syndrome?? Anyway, this year I am determined to pamper myself more and start buying new clothes for myself. The Bluefly coupon that I found will be a great incentive to start my shopping spree. Want to join me?

Remember I mentioned before that I wanted to buy a plasma TV and plasma lift to keep the plasma TV so that it won’t be dusty from the construction dust? Well, the construction behind my house has finally completed. Yeah!! That means the house won’t be so dusty anymore and I don’t have dust as often as before. Maybe I don’t have to get a plasma TV. Hmmm, on the other hand, maybe I might still get it. It will look very nice in my living room.

Woohoo….. I finally confirmed my trip back to SE Asia. After much dilly-dallying, I finally bought the tickets. My credit cards have been charged, there’s no backing down anymore. It will be a very short 2 weeks trip so I guess I better plan my schedule carefully in order to get everything on my to-do list completed. For now, let the gift shopping begin……
