I was very excited when I opened my mailbox yesterday and found a package waiting for me. I opened the package and found 2 bottles of Grey Poupon Mustards inside. There was a bottle of hearty spicy brown and a bottle of harvest coarse ground. These mustards were sent to me for a product review. I am supposed to try them and then give an honest review. Frankly I am not a fan of mustard but my husband loves mustard. So naturally he became my product tester.
First he tried the Hearty Spicy Brown. It has a smoother texture than the Harvest Coarse Ground. You can definitely taste the spiciness from the horseradish but it was not overpowering. My husband loves onions and not surprisingly, he loves the sweet onion taste of this mustard.
Then he tried the Harvest Coarse Ground which has whole mustard seeds. At first glance, he didn’t really like the look of the mustard seeds in it and was hesitant to try it. After much persuasion, he tried it and he does not like the texture. The mustard seeds did add a whole kick to the flavor. He tried the mustard on a sandwich but he thinks that it will work better for cooking.
So I guess the winner is the Hearty Spicy Brown. Looks like we have a new favorite mustard in the house.
