Surprise, surprise!! This morning I woke up to this headline. It was very interesting because I was just talking to my friend on this topic on Monday. I live in the land of Microsoft HQ. So Microsoft comes into our conversation a lot especially since 1 out of every 3 people I know is either a Microsoft employee or ex-employee or even future employee.
Anyway, on Monday, Yahoo announced that they were laying off 1000 people. So my friend and I were talking about the Yahoo situation when both of us jokingly said that Microsoft should buyover Yahoo and turn it around. Lo and behold, to my surprise, it might actually happen!! I wonder if my friend has seen this headline.
It will be interesting to see how this whole thing develops. If this merger is successful, hopefully it will provide some much-needed competition to the Big G. What do you think of this merger?
