Summer shopping begins

Published by under Useful Links,V

I have to admit I spoil my little girl. I love shopping for her especially for clothes. She definitely has a lot more clothes than me. It also doesn’t help that we live in a place that has four seasons where we need different clothes for each season. When I was buying her baby clothes, I could only buy summer clothes since we were living in Florida which doesn’t really have four seasons. But now, I shop for summer clothes, winter clothes, fall clothes and more. I definitely have more excuses to shop. Now excuse me please while I go shopping for new summer dresses.

Weekend Snapshot: Yurts

Photobucket

Summer is just around the corner and that means it’s camping time! This weekend, we went to a nearby park to check out the camping ground. Look what we found…… Yurts!

I have never heard of yurts until I started camping. According to wiki, “a yurt is a portable, felt-covered, wood lattice-framed dwelling structure used by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia” These yurts can be found in many of the state parks but this particular park has just added them recently. They can be rented for USD40 a night. Most of them has a bunk bed in them.

Close up of the yurts:

Don’t you think they look very cute? We’re planning to try them out this summer. It will definitely different from tent camping.

Messy painter!

Published by under Useful Links,V

My little girl loves to paint and it seems that’s the only thing she likes to do in preschool lately. She has been coming home with paint stains all over her hands and clothes. I am getting a little tired of scrubbing paint stains of her hands and clothes. Maybe I should just send her to preschool with disposable exam gloves on her hands and a big plastic bag over her clothes so that I don’t have to clean up any more paint stains!

Photo Hunters: Unique/Funny Sign

Published by under Photo Hunter,Photography

What’s so unique about this sign?

Usually speed limits are posted at 10 mph, 15 mph, 20 mph and so on. Rarely can you find one that says 9 mph, don’t you agree? :) Actually the person-in-charge did that on purpose, hoping that drivers will take a second look and really do slow down.

Edited to add: This speed limit is located in a housing community that’s why it’s super slow. :)

Thanks for visiting my . Have a great weekend.

Tired . . . .

Published by under Rambling

The little one has been throwing up for last few days. I think she’s got the stomach flu. It seems like we’ve been going to the doctors all the time since we got back from Malaysia. Her doctor, my doctor and back to her doctor again! Sigh…….. so tired. . . .

Layoff again?

Published by under Useful Links,V

It was in the newspaper recently that a major local company will be laying off a lot of employees soon. It always saddens me when I read about such news. Lately there seems to be a lot of layoff news. I do wonder if these companies are laying off employees because they are really making a loss or it’s just part of their strategy to deal with the recession. Maybe if the companies had implemented corporate performance management, they might have been able to avoid the layoff? I guess we will never know.

Watching Asian dramas online

Published by under Rambling

When I was living in Florida, I subscribed to the Asian channels on my cable TV. So I was able to catch up on the latest Hong Kong TVB series. However since I moved here, I can’t do that since my current cable company does not offer that option. Recently I found a website that I can watch my Korean dramas online.  They have also recently added some Hong Kong dramas too. Check out mysoju.com if you are interested.

Weekend Snapshot: Blue Sky

It’s a little cloudy but the blue sky finally made a grand entrance after been missing for 2 days. This weekend, we had a miserable weekend of snow, sleet and even hail! It is such a joy to see the blue sky even if it’s just for an hour before it’s night time. The weather has been a little crazy lately. Normally the temperature is in the 60s this time of the year but it was been in the 30s the past 2 days. I was planning to show beautiful tulip photos this weekend but the plan to visit the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival had to be cancelled due to the snow. Hopefully the tulips will still be in bloom next week!

Hope the weather’s great wherever you are. Have a great week, everyone!
