Photo Hunter: What IS that?

Published by at 10:43 am under Photo Hunter,Photography

I have blogged about this before last year but I am reposting it again because it is something that still boggles my mind! :)

What IS this and how do you use it?

If you haven’t guessed it, it’s somesort of a slide. This equipment has been sitting at a nearby playground for more than a year and we are still not quite sure how to use it!! At first we thought the slide has been installed upside down but nope, it’s seems to be correct. In the first photo, the steps do not even lead up to the light blue slide. It’s about 1 feet away!?! Anyone has any idea how to use this? :)

Thanks for visiting my . Have a great weekend, everyone. :)

I agree that looks like it’s installed incorrectly. I don’t have a clue about it but great shot for the theme.

I’m with you, it looks like its installed properly. Maybe they just didn’t bother with it anymore. Or maybe that is not a playground equipment, maybe its some sort of an art piece :D

    Nice entry :)

The playground over at my place has got that thing too. I never quite knew the main purpose of it, except knowing my kids imagines that it’s a dry “surfboard” :P

Wow, those look bizarre! I had my son take a look and he said, no problem. Happy hunting.

interesting slide designs! they don’t look too safe, though … maybe they were meant for older kids? :)

Seems to me this is not just a physical tool, but a mental one too hehe… Cool photo! :)

I was also thinking it’s an upside down slide. Beats me how this is used. Love the colors though.

… whoever installed this, he/she must be believing that it was for acrobats or something… lol.

Interesting none the less. But I’m picturing me using this equipment and getting stuck, then they call the paramedics…come to my rescue, I’m on the 6 o’clock news and made it on the front page of the newspaper…ya, visions of my grandeur!!!

My photo hunt this week is a sequence of photos as I open a purchase I made at Michael’s Crafts shop. Can you guess what they are before I reveal them?

Come by if you can find time!! Have a super weekend.

No clue how its used… but I agree, kids can usually figure it out on their own ;-) Makes for an interesting shot, anyway.

Do you ride the top? I would look for the manufacturer’s logo on it and go to the website….

  23. CrAzY Working Momon 19 Jul 2008 at 8:47 am

Well, I must say that I’ve never seen anything quite like this one before! This is a very interesting slide. Very creative!

  24. girasolion 19 Jul 2008 at 7:44 pm

Never saw one of those before. I wonder what my preschool class would do? They would probably figure it out before I would. Great post for this week’s theme!

  25. Colin Campbellon 20 Jul 2008 at 4:27 am

My kids would be happy to act as consultants. They are playground experts now.

  26. tigerfishon 21 Jul 2008 at 6:40 am

It seems like a short slide. I would have thought it was something similar to a “tree trunk” that you can climb. :P

  27. Chingon 21 Jul 2008 at 8:42 am

Have one of those outside my flat. Was greatly puzzled by it too when it was first installed. Then my kids enlightened me – slides and rock-climbing, etc. Have watched kids play on them – tho’ not much problem adapting to them, they don’t seem to have as much fun on them as conventional playground on the other side. oh well!

  28. tokenhippygirlon 21 Jul 2008 at 2:57 pm

I think the hows and whys of equipment like that is best left to the experts… the kids. LOL I have no idea!

How interesting! Those slides really look peculiar.
