Did you know that one person is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease every 7 seconds? It is the 6th leading cause of death in America. That is why this year more than 200,000 people all over US will be teaming up with Alzheimer’s Association for a Memory Walk to fight this dreadful disease. How would you like to be part of that walk? There are currently walks in more than 600 communities. You can sign up and join a walk nearest you. Usually a typical Memory Walk is a 2-3 mile walk held on a weekend morning in the fall.
If you are unable to walk, you can also contribute to the cause by being a team captain. A team captain’s job is mainly to rally walkers and motivate them to raise funds and awareness for the cause. Can’t do either? Don’t worry! There are many other volunteer positions available for you to help out this cause. So don’t hesitate! Join Alzheimer’s Memory Walk today and help us to walk a step closer to a world without Alzheimer’s disease.
