Lil’ C has been playing piano for slightly more than a year. Even though she is not practicing as much as I would like her to, she is still doing really well. She has performed at 3 recitals and she really loved them. Currently we only have a keyboard which has worked well for her so far but I think it is probably a good time to upgrade to a real acoustic piano. From what I understand, the keys on a keyboard are lighter than a piano, thus affecting the way a pianist plays. A piano will help her to play piano the right way. Looks like it’s time to scour the sales paper to see if I can get a good deal on a piano. Any recommendations?

We just got back from our camping trip and guess what; we’re off again on another camping trip this weekend!! DH is really into fly-fishing lately so we get to tag along to check out new fishing holes. We really don’t mind because we love to be out in the nature, especially by the waters. Lil’ C loves to camp too although I am not too sure which part she likes more – the camping or the s’mores! Either way, she is happy. The only thing that I don’t like about camping is the bathroom part. We usually try to camp near one but sometimes it is not possible. So I usually end up not drinking enough water to try to avoid going to the bathroom. Silly of me, isn’t it? I hope I won’t need any acne treatments for not drinking enough water. We seriously need to consider getting a camper with an attached bathroom if we are planning to go camping every weekend!

Today’s the official last day of Lil’ C’s preschool. Sigh! This year has gone by so fast. My baby is growing up. This September she might be entering kindergarten. I said might because her kindergarten entrance is still pending right now. It is a little complicated because she will be going to kindergarten a year early. It’s an issue that I have been struggling with lately. Whether I should send Lil’ C to school early or not. What prompted this decision was the fact that even at 4 1/2 years old, Lil’ C is already reading at 2nd grade level, thus the decision to send her early. She will need to undergo some tests next month to decide whether she is ready for kindergarten. If that does not work out, I will probably homeschool her.
Whatever the outcome, this summer we are just going to take it easy and just play. Lots of visits to the parks, zoo, museums, play dates, swimming, camping, fishing and more. Hopefully with all these running around, I won’t need the best diet supplement to keep my weight in check!

Since Lil’ C might be spending more time in school in the fall, I have seriously been considering getting a job or at least a part-time job. I was trained in the technology field but I am not sure if I want to get back into that rat race once again. I am hoping to find a job that is slower-paced and hopefully still allow me to spend time with my girl. With all the insurance dealings I have had lately, maybe I should get a job in the insurance industry like an actuary or underwriter. I might just gain a better understanding of all the insurance out there like health insurance, disability insurance, property insurance and the list goes on. Nah! On second thoughts, I might be more confused than ever!!

Whew, what a weekend! We were out on our first camping trip of the year. The campsite was a huge one and very private. The only problem was that it was a walk-in site which means we had to walk down about 100 feet of steps to get from the car to the campsite. That doesn’t sound very far but when you have to walk up and down at least 50 times trying to unload all the camping stuff from the car, it gets to be a really good workout. The workout has an even better result than appetite suppressant because I was so exhausted after unloading that I even skipped lunch and had a nap instead. Despite this slight inconvenience, we had a great time at camp.

With summer approaching, I have been trying to lose a couple of pounds. Unfortunately even with my best efforts, the pounds would not drop. Then all of a sudden, I lost those extra weight last week. What is my secret? Nope, I didn’t use the best diet pills on the market. It was all thanks to my toothache!! Since I was in pain and couldn’t chew, I had to go on a liquid diet. That’s when I lost a couple of pounds. Since then I have not gain any weight yet. So that‘s good. Hopefully the camping this weekend will not mess it all up again. Somehow DH equates camping with eating feast!!

Out of curiousity, do you blog less, more or about the same in the summer? I am just finding it so hard to blog nowadays. The weather has been so beautiful that we have been spending so much time outdoors. Weekdays, it’s been the playground while it’s the beach/lake during the weekends. Now that school is almost over, there are lots of field trips & picnics too. So it seems like we are hardly at home nowadays, let alone blog. This weekend we are off again! To our first camping trip this year. Yay!!

Yay! finally the weather is warm enough! It was a gorgeous day today. So we headed out early, grabbed breakfast from my favorite bakery and headed out to the beach. Lil’ C had so much fun making sandcastles, playing bubbles & frisbee, and throwing rocks. Will post some photos soon.

Over the past few months, due to some medical issues, I have had quite a number of doctor and dentist visits. From all those visits, I realized that the scariest part is not the visit but it’s the bill that comes at the end. It’s mind-boggling how expensive medical care is in this country. Right now, I’m just grateful that I have insurance that covers most of it. But what about when I am in my 60s/70s and no longer have insurance coverage? Will Medicare or Medicare supplement supplements be able to cover all or at least most of the cost? I don’t know. I guess that I just have to pray that I will remain very healthy throughout my life in this world.
