Topsy turvy time zone

Published by under Travel,V

I love travelling but I don’t love the jet lag part of travelling. Since I am halfway across the world, the time zone is totally opposite of my place of departure. So for the first few days, we would walk around like zombies with dark eye circles because it was morning locally but our body still thinks that it was night. Usually it takes a few days to adjust to the time zone. So we usually try to take it easy the first few days just to get over the jet lag and I think we are almost over it now.

Too hot!

Published by under Rambling,V

I think all the local spicy food and the hot and humid weather are wreaking havoc to my body. It is just getting too heaty. I guess it will help if I drink more water but with all the running around, that fact has been neglected. If I don’t want to seek any acne treatment, I think I better drink more water from now on since I am sure that I am not going to refrain from eating spicy food.

Missed opportunity

Published by under Shopping,V

One thing that I really miss when I left on my vacation was the after-Christmas shopping. I didn’t get many deals during Black Friday, so originally I was hoping to be able to get some nice deals after Christmas. Unfortunately we left town on Christmas Day, so there goes my after- shopping spree. Hopefully I will still be able to get some good deals after we get back from our vacation.

Pigging out in Singapore

Published by under Travel,V

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. This year instead of spending Christmas at home, we spend it on a plane instead. We are actually on an extended vacation on the other end of the world. The flight was so long but we made it and so glad to be here. So far, we have been pig out and enjoy all the yummy local food. I haven’t even been online much, let alone checking for online life insurance rates that I was supposed to do before we left on our vacation. Oh well, I guess it can wait till after vacation. For the moment, I am just going to enjoy my vacation without even bothering with anything on my to do list.

Last minute shopping is not good!

Published by under Rambling,V

Gosh, it is so crowded everywhere!! I have been running around trying to do some last-minute shopping and I can see that everyone else is doing that too. I guess I am not the only procrastinator around. Actually all my last minute gifts are those people that I usually have no idea what to buy. Maybe next year, I should get each of them a couple of loose diamonds!! That will solve my entire shopping dilemma and everyone would be happy. Anyway, I am done shopping and am off to a Christmas Eve dinner. Hope you are doing the same too.

Making a handprint Christmas tree

Published by under Art & Crafts,Kids

Handprint Christmas Tree

This is a fun craft to do with your little ones for this Christmas season. It is also a good craft that you can just add one every year. The leaves are made using their handprint, so you can also see how much they have grown every year. As for the decorations, you can also make it a tradition for your child to write or draw something that they like. It will be so much fun to look back at these decorations a few years down the road.

Materials needed:

  • A triangle piece of green poster (size depends on how big you want the tree to be.)
  • A rectangle piece of brown paper for the tree trunk.
  • Green construction paper
  • Ornament template or stickers for ornaments
  • pencils and crayons

Instructions:

  1. Trace your childs hands on a piece of paper
  2. Have your child cut it out (Good exercise for fine motor skills)
  3. Stick the handprints onto the tree
  4. Add ornaments

Have fun making it!

Rush, rush, rush

Published by under Around Town,Rambling,V

That’s what I feel these few days. Eveyone is rushing here and there. The roads have been so jammed with cars these 2 days. I am sure that everyone is out there trying to finish shopping for the holidays. I know that everyone is trying to get to their destination as soon as possible but I really wish that some people would drive more carefully. Yesterday I saw a car almost hit some construction worker because they were driving too fast. Luckily the construction workers were wearing safety vests, so the driver saw the bright colored vests and managed to stop at the nick of time. It is such a crazy time out on the roads. I think I will just stick to online shopping this year.

Time to slow down

Published by under Rambling,V

Even though the weather is really cold outside, my body has been feeling really heaty. I think it is because I have been so busy that I haven’t been drinking enough water after gulping down super spicy food. I am going to have to slow down, eat slowly and drink lots of water or I might be looking for the best acne treatment soon. Next year, no more procrastination! I really need to get some of the holiday stuff done earlier so I don’t go into panic mode like this year! Remind me next year, will you?

Baking craze

Published by under Uncategorized

I have to declare November and December to be my baking months. My oven has been working overtime. Besides holiday bakings, I have also been baking birthday cakes. I baked 3 birthday cakes in a month and that is a lot for me. Check out my 3 cakes: Pink Flamingo Cake, Tinkerbell Teapot Cake and Unicorn Pegasus Rainbow Cake.
