Just My Rambling

Summer is also the time when we go on road trips. We love road trips because we get to explore a lot of out-of-the-way attractions which we would otherwise miss if we were to fly. One thing that really fascinates me during road trips is the amount of over the road truck driving that happens. These drivers drive all over the country trying to deliver goods from one place to another. It really makes me more appreciative whenever I receive products or buy out-of-state products. Anyway, so far I have explored over 50% of the states. Hopefully I will be able to explore more over the next couple of years.

Now that summer break is finally here, it is time to start shopping for summer gears. Usually in the summer, we spend a lot of time outdoors which means camping time. Over the years we have accumulated a lot of camping and outdoor gears, so it is safe to say that we are very well equipped for our camping trips. However some of the gears need to be updated every couple of years. This year we will need to get a new tent, spotting scopes and a couple of air mattresses. Other than that, we are pretty much set and all ready for a great camping season.

Woohoo…. School is finally over for the year! These 2 weeks have been really hectic with all the school concerts, field days and year end parties. When school ended at noon today, I actually heaved a sigh of relief. It is time for summer vacation to begin. So far the weather has not been very good. Hopefully it will warm up soon. I guess I should order some ray ban sunglasses at nineapair in anticipation of a nice warm summer. Now I am off to just relax and do nothing for the day.

With only 2 weeks left for school, it’s graduation time! Last week, I received some promotional offers for Graduation Photo Cards. So I have been thinking of making some for C. I know she’s only graduating from first grade but I figure if I do one for her every year, it will make a great memory book for her. It’s also a good way to inform the extended family about the milestones in her life. I think that is a great idea. Time to start looking for a good photo.

Recently a friend bought a house. It is a nice house but since it is an older house, there are a lot of things that need to be done to the house. So far, they have remodeled the kitchen and the bathroom. Currently they are shopping around for flooring for the living room. They are thinking about using the laminate flooring from BestLaminate.net but they are still trying to see if they can get the lowest price possible. Originally I plan to buy a house near their place but after watching them going through all the hassle of renovation and modernizing, I am having second thoughts. Maybe I should just stick with new houses especially since both DH and I are not DIY-inclined.

Nowadays it seems like it is a trend to send electronic invite to birthday parties, even for the kids. I actually received an actual invitation card by mail last week and I have to admit I was not quite sure what to do. I am so used to getting electronic invitations which I can just RSVP with the click of a mouse. For some, sending electronic invites just doesn’t make the cut because they seem so impersonal but for me, it works great. That way I don’t have to print invitations, buy stamps at the post office and then mailing them out. It is just easier to just do everything online for me.
