I love to travel. If I have lots of money, I would just drop everything and travel the world. However that is just a big dream that hopefully someday will come true. But for now, I will stick to my small travels whenever possible. I remember 20 odd years ago, when I was in college, traveling was a lot of fun but also a lot of work. We had to find a map and literally sit down and use a highlighter to highlight the road that we would take for our road trips. We would also be studying lots of travel review books to find interesting places.
Fast forward a few years and travel planning got a lot easier when everything was online. There were maps, attractions and even reviews online. Needless to say, I had no use for my paper map and guide book anymore. All I had to do to plan road trips was to enter our starting point and ending point and we will get a fully detailed route including interesting places to visit along the way. However I still had to print out the meticulously planned route on paper since computer access was limited on road trips.
Just when I thought nothing could beat online travel planning, it got even better with all our mobile devices. Nowadays I do not even have to print any paper anymore! Every single information can be found on my mobile device which is accessible anytime and anywhere. I even have the Best Hotel Apps on my mobile device so that I can find hotels, check their reviews and even book the hotel minutes before arriving at the hotel. I love the fact that I can book hotels at the last minute because when we are on a road trip, sometimes it is hard to know the exact plan due to unexpected delays or surprise attractions. Now where should I go on my next vacation?
