Just My Rambling

Everytime I go downtown, I can’t help but notice that there are a lot of new constructions going on. Some are residential but most of them are new office buildings. The list of vacant commercial real estate is so long nowadays, so it makes me wonder if they are going to be able to lease out all those office buildings or not. It will be such a waste if those nice buildings end up remaining vacant.

Last weekend was the Labor Day weekend and even though it was a 3 day weekend, we decided not to go anywhere. We had just returned from a week’s vacation in Oregon and thought it was a good idea to become couch potatoes for 3 days to recover from our vacation. Anyway, the couch potato idea did not work because we ended up reorganizing the house. We converted our loft area which originally was our office area into an entertainment area. Then we moved the entire office area to the basement. Now I have so much space in my new office area. Maybe I should put in a little snack area complete with bar counter and bar sinks. Since I don’t drink, I will use it as a tea counter and a snack counter for Lil’ C. That way I don’t have to keep running upstairs to the kitchen whenever we needed some snacks.

This summer has been such a crazy summer filled with lots of travelling. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately that fun also comes with something not so nice – weight gain!!! Sigh!! Skipping the gym over the summer did not help either. I was looking over the top rated diet pills list over the internet and was so tempted to check them out. However now that summer is over and with no travel plans in sight, I think I will start going to the gym and also watch what I eat. I am sure I will be able to lose my summer weight gain through this old fashioned way.

Lil’ C loves animals and recently she has been asking for a pet. She wanted a cat or a dog. Unfortunately I don’t think that she is getting her wish fulfilled anytime soon. Seriously I don’t think I can afford to keep a pet. The dog or cat supplies, grooming and even medical care all cost money. I guess Lil’ C will have to wait till she can earn her own money before she gets a pet.

My little girl will be starting elementary school in a couple of years. That is why I have been thinking about moving to another town that has a good school district so that my girl can go to a good school. Unfortunately most of the houses in that town are quite old. If we finally decide to buy an old house there, I will make sure to hire a good house inspector to make sure that there isn’t any form of asbestos in the house especially since exposure to asbestos causes mesothelioma.

I am typing this on a porch of a gorgeous huge house in the mountain in Oregon. The kids are all asleep peacefully after an exhausting 3 hour walk around this mountain retreat. Ahh… peace…. Well, at least for an hour or two before they wake up!
It is so nice here to be out in the nature after a long drive here yesterday. Yesterday, we arrived in 4 cars with 9 adults, 4 kids and 2 babies. All of us had our car packed to the brim!!. It’s amazing how much stuff you have to bring when you have a child. Next time, I think we will have to get a truck rental to fit everything we need.
We’ll be going to Crater Lake tomorrow. I am so looking forward to that. Hopefully the weather will be nice so that I can take some nice photos of Crater Lake.

I realized that ever since I quit my job and became a stay at home mom, I do not buy any designer clothes for myself anymore. It is not so much that I can’t afford it but rather it’s due to the fact that I do not have anywhere nice to go!!! Staying at home all day with a messy toddler does not require nice clothes. However now that Lil’ C is older and not so attached to me anymore, I think I need to get her a babysitter, buy myself some Michael Kors clothes and Oscar de la Renta shoes and go to a fancy restaurant with my husband for a date night.

Summer is slowly coming to an end. In another month we will have to take out the patio furniture covers from storage and cover up our patio furniture. It will be too cold to be sitting out in the patio in the winter, so we usually cover them up to keep them clean. But till then, we will just enjoy having our meals outdoor on our patio.

My husband deals with a lot of vendors at his workplace. Every couple of weeks, he would bring back company logo shirts that were given by the vendors. We love free shirts but the problem is that the shirts he brings back are always one size too small! I guess either my husband need to lose weight so that he can wear the shirts or he needs to remind the vendors to bring a bigger size shirt.

My favorite room in my current house is definitely the kitchen. Since I love to bake, I spend a lot of time in my kitchen. Unfortunately I have not been baking much recently because my kitchen faucets have been giving me problem. It looks like it is about time to get a new one. This time, I will make sure that I get a kitchen faucet that is more reliable.
