When we first received Nana Star a couple of weeks ago, Lil’ C was so excited to see her and since then, they have been inseparable. Nana Star is like her little shadow now. She has been all over the house, the town and even on our recent vacation!!

Nana Star came to us along with a book and a CD. This book is about a little girl who found a lost baby star. The baby star wanted her Nana and so the little girl took on the responsibility of taking care of the baby star. That’s how she became Nana Star. Together, they embarked on a magical journey to bring baby star home. The CD has an audio version of the book and also a song. I can’t even begin to count how many times we have played and replayed the CD over and over again. Lil’ C just loves it.

One interesting fact about the Nana Star series is that all the Nana Star stories have a mistake in them. This was done on purpose because Nana Star believes that we all make mistakes in life and we can create something beautiful even with those mistakes.

The magic of Nana Star is brought to us by 4 generations of a family. Elizabeth Owens, the grandmother, is the creator of Nana Star. Her daughter, Linda Saker is the illustrator while her granddaughters, Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice are the writers and publishers of the book. Elizabeth Owens created Nana Star, Moonman and other friends out of love for her grandson who lived far away. She hoped that her grandson would have a sense of love and belonging wherever he went.

If you are looking for a great children’s gift, Nana Star is one that you need to check out. I am sure that your child will love her as much as mine does.

Ever since the day that I found out I was pregnant with my little girl, I found myself shopping for baby clothes all the time. Even though my little girl is 3 now, I still love to shop for her. I especially love those clothes that have cute & unique sayings on them just like the ones found on Uncommonly Cute.

The fun thing at Uncommonly Cute is that you can customize your shirt. First you select a design, and then you select a style whether you prefer a onesie, a short-sleeve T-shirt or a long-sleeve T-shirt. For certain designs, you can also select the color and add a matching hat.

The newborn clothes at Uncommonly Cute with sayings like “brand new” and “freshly baked” will make great baby shower gifts. For the toddlers, I am sure that they will love the ones that say “Rock Star” or “I scream” although I think “Drama Queen” will be perfect for my little girl. They even have matching designs for twins like the ones that say “1 of 2” and “2 of 2”. Isn’t that cute?

Uncommonly Cute has an awesome sale going on now. So if you are shopping for unique gifts or for your own children, Uncommonly Cute is definitely the place for you to shop right now.

Since I started furniture shopping, I realize that there are so many new and cool house furnishings and accessories out there. Now I am starting to get the itch to replace some of the other stuff around the house like my cabinet knobs. There’s nothing wrong with my current cabinet knob but they came with the house and looks really boring. Maybe I should get something fancier to jazz up my cabinets.

I am starting to panic because it just dawned on me that my parents will be here in less than 2 weeks. My house is in a mess and I still have not gotten all my furniture yet. Unfortunately I am also very broke after paying for my cruise vacation. Looks like I will have to do some serious hunting for discount furniture this week or my parents will have to sit and sleep on the floor. I don’t think they will like that at all.

I went to Costco a couple of days ago & saw these beauties . . . .

Yay! The strawberries are here! A 4 lb box for 6 dollars. Love it! I know that some grocery stores sell them cheaper but I love the ones we get at Costco. The strawberries are always very sweet & huge. When strawberries start appearing at Costco, it usually means that the other berries will start appearing soon. Can’t wait for that to happen.

Valentine’s Day is coming up next week. Do you have special plans with that special someone? As for me, I don’t have any special plans yet. Before my husband and I got married, he used to send me gorgeous roses. However, it has been a while since I received any flowers. He always seems to forget about Valentine’s Day nowadays. Hmm, I think I should direct his attention to 1-800-flowers.com. They have really gorgeous valentines day roses. It is so easy to order online from 1-800-flowers.com that he would not be able to use the excuse that he is too busy to go to the florist. Maybe If I remind him everyday for the next few days, he might get the message and send me these beautiful pink, white & red valentine roses.

If you are a Bento fan, then you will be interested to know that a new Daiso just opened up recently in the Bay Area. The new store is in the New Park Mall in Fremont, California. It’s next to Sears and it opened right after Christmas 2007. So if you are looking for Bento supplies, this is the place to go. :)

I have been busy going through the Black Friday ads & checking to see if there’s anything interesting enough to inspire me to wake up at 4 am to go shopping!! Last 2 years, I wasn’t interested in those big-ticket items, so I went around 7 am and got some small items. Those usually don’t run out as fast as the big items. Anyone going shopping at BF this year? ok, off to check more ads

Oh, for those not in US, BF is the day after Thanksgiving & it’s the biggest shopping day of the year. Usually stores open around 4-5 am!! :)

I do!! It seems like I have been shopping like crazy the last couple of weeks. There seems to be so many birthdays within these 2 months, including Lil’ C’s! We’ll be having a small party for her at the house this weekend. So I’ve been getting party supplies and also getting some stuff for the house too. I’m trying to the house ready for guests since it’s still kinda bare right now. This will be the first time we’ll be having a party at the house since we moved in. Then there’s the Christmas shopping too. I think I am a little afraid of shopping already especially when they swipe my credit card! I think I will faint when I receive my credit card bill next month!!

Admit it, who doesn’t love a bargain? Personally, I love bargains and my current favorite haunt is Techbargains.com. With all the computer geeks in my family, tech gifts are the best and most appreciated Christmas gifts.

Techbargains has all the latest bargain news and exclusive deals. It also sends out a free e-newsletter with all the best deals of the week. If you are too busy to read through the entire newsletter, you can choose to receive deal alerts which can be customized to your interests. Techbargains.com is also updated 24/7, even on weekends and holidays so you don’t have to worry about missing out on any hot deals.

There are also coupons and rebates on techbargains. In fact, the dell coupons will come in very handy for me because my husband has promised to get me a Dell laptop for Christmas this year. My husband has his eyes on the HDTV. I guess I better go check out the best deals available for HDTV.
