I am supposed to be fixing my blog but for the past couple of hours I have been surfing the internet and doing some green shopping instead! I love online shopping! Nowadays it is so hard to go shopping with a whiny kid in tow. Doing my shopping online is so easy and convenient. Just find the product, pay for it and then it’s there on the front steps of the house a couple of days later. It is also good for the environment since I am not driving my car around. The only con that I see with online shopping is the damage to my wallet!! Oops, better hide my credit card bill next month.

Since I have shopping so much this week, I also decided to do a little window shopping for furniture. I really need a sofa for my house and I really love the modern sofas that can be found here. Even though I know that I can never buy it here, it is still fun to check them out. I am sure that if I find one that I really like, I just might be able to find them on the web. After all nowadays you can just find almost anything on the web.

One thing that I really miss when I left on my vacation was the after-Christmas shopping. I didn’t get many deals during Black Friday, so originally I was hoping to be able to get some nice deals after Christmas. Unfortunately we left town on Christmas Day, so there goes my after- shopping spree. Hopefully I will still be able to get some good deals after we get back from our vacation.

Even though I have been trying to reduce our spending and increase our savings this year, there are times when it is unavoidable to spend money. When something gets broken, it will need to be replaced like our television. That is why I am glad that there are sites like Buy.com that always have great weekly deals. They always have great prices on their sale items and clearance items. Lately I have been checking out their deals very often in hopes of finding a great deal on a television that we like. Hopefully I will find one soon because I am determined not to pay full price for a television.

Even though it is still in the middle of winter, I notice that a lot of winter stuff are already on sale. Some stores even have them at 75% off already. C is already outgrowing her winter clothes so I guess this is a great time to stock up some beanies, winter jackets, snow boots and gloves for next winter. I could wait till next winter to get the exact size but it will cost me a lot more. I guess buying 2 sizes bigger is pretty safe. Maybe it will last her for 2 winters!
Oh, where are you, Mr UPS??? After a long wait, I finally managed to snag a Wii Fit
at Amazon on Tuesday. Yes, I know I could have easily gotten one at some other sites but the stingy frugal me refuse to pay more than the MRSP. I have Amazon Prime which means 2 day free shipping. That means that it should arrive sometime today. I wish Mr UPS would hurry up!!
When we first received Nana Star a couple of weeks ago, Lil’ C was so excited to see her and since then, they have been inseparable. Nana Star is like her little shadow now. She has been all over the house, the town and even on our recent vacation!!
Nana Star came to us along with a book and a CD. This book is about a little girl who found a lost baby star. The baby star wanted her Nana and so the little girl took on the responsibility of taking care of the baby star. That’s how she became Nana Star. Together, they embarked on a magical journey to bring baby star home. The CD has an audio version of the book and also a song. I can’t even begin to count how many times we have played and replayed the CD over and over again. Lil’ C just loves it.
One interesting fact about the Nana Star series is that all the Nana Star stories have a mistake in them. This was done on purpose because Nana Star believes that we all make mistakes in life and we can create something beautiful even with those mistakes.
The magic of Nana Star is brought to us by 4 generations of a family. Elizabeth Owens, the grandmother, is the creator of Nana Star. Her daughter, Linda Saker is the illustrator while her granddaughters, Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice are the writers and publishers of the book. Elizabeth Owens created Nana Star, Moonman and other friends out of love for her grandson who lived far away. She hoped that her grandson would have a sense of love and belonging wherever he went.
If you are looking for a great children’s gift, Nana Star is one that you need to check out. I am sure that your child will love her as much as mine does.

Ever since the day that I found out I was pregnant with my little girl, I found myself shopping for baby clothes all the time. Even though my little girl is 3 now, I still love to shop for her. I especially love those clothes that have cute & unique sayings on them just like the ones found on Uncommonly Cute.
The fun thing at Uncommonly Cute is that you can customize your shirt. First you select a design, and then you select a style whether you prefer a onesie, a short-sleeve T-shirt or a long-sleeve T-shirt. For certain designs, you can also select the color and add a matching hat.
The newborn clothes at Uncommonly Cute with sayings like “brand new” and “freshly baked” will make great baby shower gifts. For the toddlers, I am sure that they will love the ones that say “Rock Star” or “I scream” although I think “Drama Queen” will be perfect for my little girl. They even have matching designs for twins like the ones that say “1 of 2” and “2 of 2”. Isn’t that cute?
Uncommonly Cute has an awesome sale going on now. So if you are shopping for unique gifts or for your own children, Uncommonly Cute is definitely the place for you to shop right now.

Since I started furniture shopping, I realize that there are so many new and cool house furnishings and accessories out there. Now I am starting to get the itch to replace some of the other stuff around the house like my cabinet knobs. There’s nothing wrong with my current cabinet knob but they came with the house and looks really boring. Maybe I should get something fancier to jazz up my cabinets.

I am starting to panic because it just dawned on me that my parents will be here in less than 2 weeks. My house is in a mess and I still have not gotten all my furniture yet. Unfortunately I am also very broke after paying for my cruise vacation. Looks like I will have to do some serious hunting for discount furniture this week or my parents will have to sit and sleep on the floor. I don’t think they will like that at all.
