Lately we have been travelling a lot and Lil’ C has been asking a lot of questions about the places that we’ve visited. I figured it is a good time for to learn a little geography especially about the different states that we’ve been travelling to. It is very boring to learn the map on its own. So I tried to think of a fun way to teach her and that is through puzzles.

Ever since she was a baby, Lil’ C has always loved puzzles. I found this photo from my other blog of her playing puzzles while eating.

Puzzle Queen

This was taken when she was 2 1/2 fixing her 60-pieces puzzle. She is now able to fix a 100 piece puzzle easily.Anyway, back to topic, I got her this 84-piece map puzzle.

It took her a while but she finally figured out how to put the map together. Sometimes I will purposely hide a few pieces and she has to figure out which state is missing before I will give her the state. With this puzzle, she is not only learning but most importantly she has fun doing it.

My little girl doesn’t like to eat. So ever since she started pre-school where she will stay for lunch for 2 days a week, I have been making bentos for her. Somehow it makes her eat more when her food looks “cute”.  Even though it takes a little more time and effort to make in the morning, it makes it all worthwhile when she comes back with an empty lunchbox and say “Mommy I love my lunch”!

Here are some of the bentos that I have been making . . .

Bento #1 - A Starry Day

Bento #2 - Hot Diggity Dog

Bento #3 - All American classic

Bento #4 - Spring Time

Bento #5 - Crispy Pancake Day

It’s 8:30 am, it’s drizzling, it’s cold and what were we doing???

We were lining up for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at a local grocery store!!!

Looking for eggs in the spice section

In the yogurt section

Yes, even in the frozen section! Brrrr……

It was a fun morning. Spend some time opening the eggs and discovering all the surprises inside. Lots of little toys, chocolate eggs & a couple of coupons for free cookies. Too bad we didn’t get the grand prize. Oh well, maybe next year. :)

After almost a month of skipping school, I finally took Lil’ C to her preschool today. Surprisingly, she seems so uncomfortable there today. Usually she will play with her best buddies but today, she was just being miss anti-social.  Hopefully she’ll be back to her miss sociable self soon.

Anyway, I decided to hang around at the preschool since I was too tired to go anywhere else. There were about 15 kids between the ages of 3 -31/2. Usually these kids are pretty good but I think the flu season has really taken its toll on a lot of them. There were lots of crying and whining today. It always boggles my mind how the mood of 1 kid will affect everyone else. It only takes 1 whining kid to set off the rest. I gotta salute the teachers for taking all these in stride! They were still calm and trying to keep everyone happy. I am not sure I could have been able to handle it. Kudos to them!

After 2 weeks of vacation followed by another 1 1/2 weeks of flu, I seem to have lost my sweet little girl. Instead, I have a whiny, cranky and rude little girl. Sigh….. I guess a month of no-routine, no rules, “do whatever you want” really messed her up. She’s been driving me up the wall with her tantrums & tears, something she’s never really done before!!! She’s even talking back too! Grrr…. Time for some retraining!!!  I really hope I get my sweet little girl back very soon or I am going crazy!!!
