Just My Rambling

Since I am looking for my nephew’s graduation gift, I might as well shop for a couple of birthday gifts. Wow, it looks like I cannot be called a procrastinator this year since I am doing my gift shopping so early. Right now I am looking at the Personal Creations website and I think I should be able to get everything I need from the website. They definitely have a huge selection of great gifts. I wonder what an 18 year old would like to have as a gift?

Last Christmas we spent 2 whole weeks in California. We spent a few days in Southern California where we visited Legoland and Disneyland. We drove around the Los Angeles area and explored a couple of beaches. When we drove by Malibu, I thought a troubled friend who was thinking of checking out malibu rehab treatment center. I wonder how he is doing nowadays. Anyway, then we went back to Northern California and explored San Francisco and the SIlicon Valley. We were having so much fun that it was hard to leave when the vacation was over. Hopefully we will be back soon.

Starting a new business is not easy. Believe me, I have tried it! I think the hardest part of a new small business is not the idea but rather it is hard to come up with the finances to get it started. In this economy where cash is king, it is hard to dump all your hard-earned cash into a new business that may or may not succeed. I guess if you are serious to start a new business, one option is to apply for a small business loan. Even if you have bad credit, it is still worth it to check out small business loans bad credit. As for me, I am still not that serious about starting a new business yet. One day when I am ready, I will definitely check into small business loans

Summer is just around the corner and that means it’s travelling time! Yay! I love travelling time. Since I am always planning the itinerary for the vacation, I am always on the look out for good travel websites for tips and ideas. Rather than trying to keep a notebook, I thought I should make a list here so that I can refer to it anytime I need it.

Every time when I go back to visit family, I usually ask them if they need anything from the US. The one constant item that they always ask for are vitamins and some over-the-counter cold medicine. Apparently those items are very costly where they are. This year, it is no exception. The wish list is the same. Vitamins and more vitamins! One cousin even included adapexin-p on her list. I guess she wants to lose weight this year. Next week I will probably need to head out to the health store to fulfill the list.

Besides spending a lot of time in the kitchen, I have also been spending a lot of time on the computer doing some mindless surfing. I have also been checking out reviews of certain products that are on our shopping list. I even peeked at the alli reviews just in case someday I might need help. It is amazing how much information is available online, whether good or bad. I guess it is to up to our own judgment to read all the reviews with a grain of salt. Some of the reviews are just off the beaten path!

When we got married, we did not have much money. So, our Wedding Jewelry was not as fancy as I would have wanted. Over the years, I wasn’t bothered by it but now that I am getting older, I find that I am more interested in fancier jewelry. Maybe it is mid-life crisis!!! Whatever the reason, I think now that Valentines’ day is coming up, I will be dropping lots of hints and lots of sales ad in front of DH. Maybe he will get the hint and buy a fancy diamond ring to replace my current one.

With Chinese New Year coming up, there are lots of oranges and peanuts for sale at the Asian grocery store. These 2 products are a staple during these festivals because people love to munch on them while visiting family and friends. That includes me! Unfortunately my body always gets too heaty after snacking especially since I always forget to drink enough water. That is why I always bring acne products whenever I go back for the celebration. My face will usually be the first casualty of this heatiness with the appearance of acne which I guess does not remain just a teenage memory. This year, I need to remind myself to drink more water to avoid unwanted hills on my face.

Every year I look forward to Black Friday but this year, I totally skipped the Black Friday shopping because it was 18 degrees outside and I was not going to line up in that freezing weather. So this year I ended up shopping more on Cyber Monday instead. It was not as fun as the whole Black Friday shopping experience but it was nice doing my shopping in my pajamas and a coffee cup next to me. I think next year I am definitely doing more Cyber Monday shopping instead of Black Friday shopping.

Lil’ C had a jogathon in school today. We had a panic moment last night because we realized that we were supposed to wear athletic wear instead of uniform for school today. Why panic? Because my dear princess daughter does not have any athletic wear! Her wardrobe consists of all things pink and frilly. I almost had to resort to altering men’s running shorts to make her attire but luckily a last minute trip to the store yielded a nice athletic attire that even the princess approves. So now if we ever have any more sports events, we are set.
