A different alternative

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

My neighbor likes to smoke once in a while. Last week she was telling me all about ecigarettes. Apparently nowadays with most places having a no-smoking ban, she is trying out an alternative way to smoke. I don’t quite understand how ecigarette work but I wish that she would try to stop smoking instead. That will be a better alternative instead.

The beginning of football season

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

I guess football season is about to start very soon because I just notice that many stores are starting to sell football memorabilia this week. I use to be a football fan in college but nowadays, I do not have time to watch football. Even so, I still have friends who are huge football fans. I think I should pick up a football gift for one of those friend even though his birthday is not for another few months. I notice that once the season starts, the memorabilia also slowly disappear from the shelf. So I had better get it before they run out of the nicest gifts.

Savings is good

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

In this tough economic time, coupons have actually been a huge lifesaver for us. We have been trying to tighten our belt but it is tough. We still have to buy food to eat and necessary household supplies. That is why coupons like dropdowndeals coupons are so helpful. They enable us to buy things at a discounted rate. Sometimes it is just a little savings but every little bit helps. Now with school starting soon, I have been checking the website for good deals on school supplies and clothes. And if I might even start a little Christmas shopping if I find great deals

Yard-free for the moment

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

Currently I only have a tiny yard at my house. When we were first looking for a house, a yard was not a priority. After taking care of a huge yard at our old place and spending hours maintaining it, we were so ready to live in a house where we do not have to take care of a yard. So far, it has been good. Although sometimes I do miss have a yard and a composter, I think that having no yard is right for our current lifestyle. Maybe when we are not travelling so much anymore, we could have a yard again because I would love to start planting again.

‘Tis the season for garage sales

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

Summer is the season for garage sales. Last summer we were very busy with garage sales. We were on both sides of the garage sales. We sold stuff and we also bought stuff at garage sales. Unfortunately this year due to various circumstances, we were unable to hold a garage sale. We did not even manage to visit as many garage sales as I would want to. However we did get to a few good ones. We managed to get some household items and a couple of wrestling singlets for a friend. We only have a couple more weeks left before school starts. Hopefully I will still have time to scour more garage sales for great deals.

The hub of all activity

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

The kitchen is the most happening place in my house. That is because we like to cook and we also like to eat, so naturally we gravitate to the kitchen. Since the kitchen is the hub of activity, all my appliances are starting to show signs of wear and tear. Even my poor stainless steel sink is full of scratches. I guess it is time to start replacing some of the worn appliances soon. Hopefully there will be a big sale on appliances coming up in the next few months.

Anniversary is coming up soon

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

It will be our 14th anniversary in a few months. Wow, I can’t believe it has been that long since we got married. Every year we always forget our anniversary, so it always ended up with just a dinner. But this year, I found a place that that has the nicest anniversary gifts for sale. Maybe I should pick up a present for DH or I should just drop hints for the DH that I want an anniversary gift. Yup, I think the second idea is a better idea! Now let me think of ways that I can drop hints that DH will likely pick up.

Reward card is the best

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

Years ago I used to have many credit cards. But nowadays, most of those credit cards have been cancelled. The only card that I carry is a reward card. I am trying not to use credit cards anymore but if I have to use a credit card, I might as well use one that pays me a reward for using it. I can’t believe that with so many no annual fee reward card out there, some people are still paying annual fee on their credit card. I guess some people are not so enthusiastic about receiving a reward check like me.

Gaining too much weight

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

Even though I do not eat much nowadays, I do not seem to be able to lose any weight. I even started to exercise more but to no avail. In fact, I seem to be gaining weight instead. A friend suggested that I might try to find a doctor to check if I have Thyroid imbalance. Apparently that could be the cause of my weight gain. I guess it is time to consult the doctor. Hopefully I can find a solution for my weight gain.

Feasting during camping

Published by under Rambling,Useful Links,V

Even though we haven’t really been getting any summer weather, we are still trying to enjoy as much summer activities as possible. Just last weekend we went camping and we were very lucky to have a break in the weather. It was actually warm and dry the whole weekend. I love camping but the only problem is that I always overeat during camping. We tend to indulge in foods that we normally do not eat like bacon and junk food. I really need to check out fat burners if I plan to do more camping this summer or I really should include more hiking trips into my camping. That way, I won’t have to worry about eating too much with all the exercise.
