Which education system is the best?

Now that my girl has gone through almost seven months of kindergarten, I realize that the education system that she is going through is totally different from the one that I went through. My education system was totally academic which means that there were lots of memorization, tests and basically straight from the textbook education. As for Lil’ C, I would say that the education system for her is more fun and definitely more creative. Every week she also has show and tell where she has to bring something related to the curriculum of the week and give a little speech in front of the class. The great thing is that she totally loves that! I guess she is not going to have public speaking anxiety when she grows up. At this moment I really can’t decide which education system is better. The best would be a combination of both. Hopefully there is a school nearby that provides the best of both education system.

Green shopping is fun!

I am supposed to be fixing my blog but for the past couple of hours I have been surfing the internet and doing some green shopping instead! I love online shopping! Nowadays it is so hard to go shopping with a whiny kid in tow. Doing my shopping online is so easy and convenient. Just find the product, pay for it and then it’s there on the front steps of the house a couple of days later. It is also good for the environment since I am not driving my car around. The only con that I see with online shopping is the damage to my wallet!! Oops, better hide my credit card bill next month.

I think there is something wrong with this blog. It tells me that I am using Wordpress 2.6.5 but the SimpleScripts in my host tells me that this is Wordpress 2.9.1!! So now I have a confused blog!! From the new post screen, it looks like it is still the old 2.6.5. That means that Simple Script is confused? I have no idea. I should probably call my hosting company to sort it out. Sigh… I do not like technical problems.

Plum Blossom

The weather was so warm the past 2 weeks that all the spring buds are already blooming. In fact all the plum blossoms like in the photo above are all in full bloom everywhere. Initially I thought they were cherry blossoms but apparently they are slightly different. I am loving all these pink flowers all over town. Unfortunately with the early onset of spring, the spring allergies are also getting a head start. DH was sneezing this whole morning. Poor guy! I think it is time to change the humidifier filters in the house. Hopefully that will help him a little.

Busy little bee

Today has been a crazy day. We had two playdates and one birthday party. What was I thinking? We even had school today. So it has just been a very long day. Hopefully she won’t be having nightmares tonight from all our activities today. We were so busy running around that I did not have time to even check out the nutrisystem reviews. I should consider getting a smaller laptop so that I can do some online work while I am driving her around. That will save me a lot of time.

I know I keep talking about trying to lose weight but so far it is not happening. My problem is that I get overwhelmed by all the different choices out there. Maybe it is time for me to just decide on a weight loss program and just do it. After all if I don’t try, I will never know whether it works or not. Somehow I am not very convinced by the commercials. Personal experience will be the best proof to determine the effectiveness of each program

Lousy laptop

I was almost done writing a post when the laptop just shut down. Ugh! Now I have to rewrite that article because I can’t remember what I wrote earlier. I was going to do some exercise after this but I guess that plan is not going to happen until I finish writing my articles. By then it will be too late to do exercise. Oh well, I might just have to get some phentermine to help me just a little if I am going to spend the time sitting down instead of doing my exercise. Oh, this laptop is driving me crazy. It has been giving me all sorts of problems ever since the first day that I got it. I am never going to buy this brand again!

To move or not to move?

Now that my girl is going to school, we have been thinking about moving to a neighboring town which has really good schools. However the only problem is that the houses in this town are all pretty old. While I can deal with the fact that we might have to do a little renovation if we decide to buy a house there, I am not sure if I will ever be fully satisfied that all the asbestos in these old houses have been thoroughly removed. All those stories from the mesothelioma lawyer about all the asbestos-related diseases are rather scary. They make me think twice about moving to an older home.

Not according to plan

It is already mid-February and my weight is not even close to my targeted weight set at the beginning of the year. In fact, I have been gaining weight instead of losing weight. Sigh! It must be all the Chinese New Year goodies that I have been indulging. I should probably check into diets for quick weight loss or I could just get off my lazy behind and head to the gym! I think I see mold growing on my gym membership card already!
