Ever since school started, I am still trying to adjust to the new schedule and routine. Unfortunately that means my diet plan has gone haywire. I have not been able to make it to the gym at all these past 2 weeks! Aargh… I’d better buck up and get myself to the gym very soon and get back on my exercise plan before I get tempted to check out the diet pill reviews. After all, old-fashioned exercise is still the best.

All of Lil’C’s school and enrichment activities are in full swing this week. That means I have once again been relegated to my chauffeuring duties again. So far, it has been exhausting driving her from one school to another and from one activity to another. I think I might have to reduce some of her activities or I might just end up needing acne treatments from the stress of driving. My family has been asking me to post videos of Lil’ C for the longest time. Unfortunately the video-ignorant me could not figure out how to download from videocam to my pc!!! Duh!!! I still don’t and my technical support aka the hubby is too lazy to help me!! So I finally ended up using the video feature of the camera. So hopefully this works!! Last week I was talking about Halloween candies being out already and guess what I saw at Costco yesterday? Christmas stuff!!!! Hello!!!! It’s only early September and all the Christmas decorations and gifts are out already. Previously they used to display them after Halloween which means early November but this year, they are selling them together with Halloween stuff. I am sure that in a couple of years, they might just start selling in the summer!! Yikes! I guess I don’t really fully understand the real estate market. Everyday the news reports are reporting on the decline of the housing market and yet there are so many new constructions around my house. In fact, they started another new construction right behind my house last week. It is making my house so dusty that I think I need to buy an IQAir Purifier soon to prevent my hubby from getting his dust allergies. I just can’t wait for the constructions to be over. I am just curious how they are going to be able to sell all those new houses! Yoohoo…… school finally started this week!! Today is the 2nd day of school and here I am sitting in Starbucks, enjoying my cup of vanilla latte while surfing without any “mommy, play with me, mommy, help me …….” in the background!! : ) I feel kinda bad saying that but it is just sooooo nice to have some me time, even if it is just for a couple of hours. I think Lil’ C was also glad to be back at school. She missed her friends a lot and I think just getting a little tired of hanging out with mommy all the time. So when Monday came, she was very excited. I send her to school with an animal-theme bento filled with her favorite food. She had a great time and we even managed to squeeze in a playdate after school. What did mommy do? She hung out at Starbucks, blog a little and met up with a friend for a little bit. Fun! This school year, Lil’ C will be going to a Cinese preschool 3 times a week and an English preschool 2 times a week for 2 hours a day. I like sending her to different schools because the schools are run so differently. The Chinese school is more academic while the English school is all about creative play. So she will be getting the best of both worlds.
Guess where this net of string came from? . . . It’s from my banana hammock. I wish I have a place to hang a hammock for me but unfortunately I don’t. So for now, only my fruits get to enjoy a hammock.
Thanks for visiting my PhotoHunt. Have a great weekend , everyone. When we first received Nana Star a couple of weeks ago, Lil’ C was so excited to see her and since then, they have been inseparable. Nana Star is like her little shadow now. She has been all over the house, the town and even on our recent vacation!!
One interesting fact about the Nana Star series is that all the Nana Star stories have a mistake in them. This was done on purpose because Nana Star believes that we all make mistakes in life and we can create something beautiful even with those mistakes. The magic of Nana Star is brought to us by 4 generations of a family. Elizabeth Owens, the grandmother, is the creator of Nana Star. Her daughter, Linda Saker is the illustrator while her granddaughters, Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice are the writers and publishers of the book. Elizabeth Owens created Nana Star, Moonman and other friends out of love for her grandson who lived far away. She hoped that her grandson would have a sense of love and belonging wherever he went. If you are looking for a great children’s gift, Nana Star is one that you need to check out. I am sure that your child will love her as much as mine does. Why oh why are the Halloween candies out so early????? There’s 2 more months till Halloween! While at the shop yesterday, I noticed that all the Halloween stuff are already out for sale. Do you realize that there are always so many new varieties of candies during the different occasions? Oh, so tempting!!!! My husband works in the downtown area and everyone knows that parking in downtown in crazily expensive. It costs about $20 per day!! With the high parking and high gas price, he has been taking the bus to work. After all his company gives him a free bus pass, so why not use that instead of paying $30 a day for parking & gas. So far he loves the bus ride especially since he doesn’t have to fight traffic. The only complaint he has is that it is boring sitting on the bus with nothing to do. He can’t read a book on a moving vehicle due to motion sickness. That is why he has been thinking of listening to an audio book instead. That way he won’t get bored in the bus. |

Nana Star came to us along with a book and a CD. This book is about a little girl who found a lost baby star. The baby star wanted her Nana and so the little girl took on the responsibility of taking care of the baby star. That’s how she became Nana Star. Together, they embarked on a magical journey to bring baby star home. The CD has an audio version of the book and also a song. I can’t even begin to count how many times we have played and replayed the CD over and over again. Lil’ C just loves it.
