This weekend is the Salmon Festival which celebrates the return of the salmon to their birthplace. There is always a big celebration here with 2 days of festivities. We went early this year and caught the parade. Lil’ C love the parade especially the floats. The weather was a little gloomy but it did stay dry throughout the hourlong parade.
Unfortunately after the parade, it started pouring! Our plans of visiting the fair and indulging in all the yummy fair food were kinda crushed. After buying some kettle corn, we headed home drenched! Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow, then we might just drop by the festival again especially the salmon hatchery.
Even though my little girl is almost 4, I have to go to the bathroom with her whenever she needs to wash her hands. It’s not that she is not capable of washing her own hands but she always has trouble turning on the faucet. My current faucet handle is very tight and hard to turn. Maybe I should look into those automatic sensor faucets like the ones in her preschool. If I have that in the house, I won’t have to make that many bathroom runs with her anymore.
The crazy travelling that we did this summer really took the travelling bug out of me, at least for a while. This morning was probably the first Saturday morning since summer that I woke up and didn’t have to rush to go anywhere or entertained anyone. We did go out to the Salmon Day Festival for a little bit but now we are all just lazing at home. It feels really good. I think that for this month I should just keep all my weekends free so that I can recuperate from the busyness of the weekdays. With all the rest, I won’t need the best acne treatment anymore.
I should be working right now but instead I got so sidetracked reading the financial news. No, not about the bailout bill! Oh, by the way, that bill just passed so let’s see what’s going to happen next. Anyway, what is keeping me interested? The fact that Wells Fargo bank and Citibank are fighting over the acquisition of Wachovia! Sheeesh… Now even the FDIC is getting involved! Will have to see who wins in the end.
All the banks are dropping like flies!! First, Washington Mutual. Now, Wachovia. I am wondering which other bank will be on the chopping board next!!!
These past couple of weeks has been a little stressful. Trying to adjust to Lil’ C’s school schedule and my new job has not been easy. Did I mention that her piano class is starting this week after a two month’s break? So that’s another thing that I have to add to my schedule. Luckily the piano school is only 10 minutes from my house; at least I won’t have to drive too far. Anyway, at this rate I am going, I am going to need acne treatment soon!!
Aaargh!!! The Microsoft Excel is driving me nuts!! I am trying to work but for some reason, the Excel keeps hanging! I know that it is due to the different version being used but shouldn’t it be smart enough to handle the difference? I am using Excel 2007 on my laptop while my work stuff is on Excel 2003 which is the same version as my house PC. I know that I can solve the problem by saving it to the 2007 version but it might cause problems with others especially if they are using 2003 version which does not even read the 2007 version. That’s why I am trying to keep it at the lower version but it is not working!!! Help!
This summer we travelled a lot and we were very glad that the air conditioning in our car was working well. It would have been a torture to make a road trip in the hot humid summer weather with air conditioning. Even though the airconditioning was working well, it did give us a scare when we first turned it on. It had a really musty smell which was probably due to the lack of usage during the winter months. At first, we were worried that the AC Compressormight be the problem but luckily after a couple of runs, the air conditioning was working fine. However just in case we run into any more problems, I have bookmarked www.1airconditioning.com for my future reference. They have everything I need should my air conditioning ever breaks down. If you have any air conditioning problem, do check them out.
This is for my aunties who wanted to hear Lil’ C read. If you listen carefully, she tends to mumble a lot and also reads really fast. The fast speed is my fault. I think sometimes I read too fast especially when I am tired. So she picks up the habit. Sigh……
Over the weekend, I took all my winter clothes out of storage to get ready for the cold winter. While rummaging through them, I found some baby clothes and baby bedding hidden among my winter clothes. I didn’t even realize I still had them. I thought I had given them all away but I guess I was wrong. Wonder what I should do with them? I wish I had found them before I had that garage sale last month. Looks like I will probably end up giving them away.
I thought that this week’s theme was a little hard because there were too many to choose from!! Between my travels and living in the Pacific Northwest, I have tons of photos of gorgeous views of Mother nature. In the end, I decided to show some beautiful views of some local attaction.
Snoqualmie Fall and yes, the rainbow is real, not photoshopped. It’s not often that we can see the rainbow that low on the ground and we were very lucky to see the rainbow that day.
Houseboats on Lake Union. Remember Sleepless in Seattle? This is where it can be found. The last I heard, that specific houseboat from that movie was on sale for 2.5 million!!!
A little foggy but the gorgeous Mt. Rainier. It is snow-capped the whole year and it’s still an active volcano!
Lastly a view of downtown Seattle with the Space Needle right in the middle of all the buildings.
Hope you enjoy the local tour. : ) Thanks for visiting my PhotoHunt. Have a great weekend , everyone.
