Just My Rambling

Even though I do not eat much nowadays, I do not seem to be able to lose any weight. I even started to exercise more but to no avail. In fact, I seem to be gaining weight instead. A friend suggested that I might try to find a doctor to check if I have Thyroid imbalance. Apparently that could be the cause of my weight gain. I guess it is time to consult the doctor. Hopefully I can find a solution for my weight gain.

Even though we haven’t really been getting any summer weather, we are still trying to enjoy as much summer activities as possible. Just last weekend we went camping and we were very lucky to have a break in the weather. It was actually warm and dry the whole weekend. I love camping but the only problem is that I always overeat during camping. We tend to indulge in foods that we normally do not eat like bacon and junk food. I really need to check out fat burners if I plan to do more camping this summer or I really should include more hiking trips into my camping. That way, I won’t have to worry about eating too much with all the exercise.

When DH was hospitalized recently, I spend a couple of days with him at the hospital. While I was there, I noticed that the patient in the next room had a really nice gift basket of confections and strawberries. Being the foodie that I am, I will naturally draw closer to anything food related. So I found out where the gift basket came from and I checked out the source and I am totally impressed by all their offerings. There are lots of cute offering and will definitely bring a smile to those who receives them. I am trying to convince DH to send me a basket as a just because gift. I told him that it could be for all those years that he forgot our anniversary! I wonder if I convinced him. Hopefully a delivery will be at my door next week.

These 2 months have been a little gentle on my wallet. It seems like there are not as many birthdays in June and July as compared to May. May was just a birthday galore. For June and July, the only birthday gift I had to buy was a couple of monster rc trucks for a friend’s son. I think next year, I should try to plan ahead and schedule my gift purchases throughout the year so that it would not be as damaging to my wallet as this year. November and December are also filled with birthdays, so I guess now is a good time to get a head start on those birthday gift shopping.

Wow, I can’t believe it is mid-July already! It seems like school just ended and now the back to school sales are in full swing already. Even though I am a little reluctant, I actually did start my back to school shopping already. The only reason I started shopping was because C was in Vacation Bible School this week, so I had a lot of free time. I even managed to shop for uniforms for C and scrub tops for a friend. I am only waiting for a few more school supply item to go on sale before purchasing. Other than that, C is all ready for school in September. Yay!

Lately I have looking for ways to invest my money. It’s not much but I hope that I can at least earn a little more than the miserable CD rate at the bank. A friend suggested that I should buy Link To Copy: buy morgan silver dollars. That sounds interesting except that I am not familiar with it, so I will probably need to do a little more research before committing to it. I have been looking at the stock market too but they have been too volatile for me. I really wonder if there’s anything out there that is more stable and can generate a little more income. I guess I will keep looking. Hopefully I will find something soon.

Summer is also the time when we go on road trips. We love road trips because we get to explore a lot of out-of-the-way attractions which we would otherwise miss if we were to fly. One thing that really fascinates me during road trips is the amount of over the road truck driving that happens. These drivers drive all over the country trying to deliver goods from one place to another. It really makes me more appreciative whenever I receive products or buy out-of-state products. Anyway, so far I have explored over 50% of the states. Hopefully I will be able to explore more over the next couple of years.

Now that summer break is finally here, it is time to start shopping for summer gears. Usually in the summer, we spend a lot of time outdoors which means camping time. Over the years we have accumulated a lot of camping and outdoor gears, so it is safe to say that we are very well equipped for our camping trips. However some of the gears need to be updated every couple of years. This year we will need to get a new tent, spotting scopes and a couple of air mattresses. Other than that, we are pretty much set and all ready for a great camping season.

Woohoo…. School is finally over for the year! These 2 weeks have been really hectic with all the school concerts, field days and year end parties. When school ended at noon today, I actually heaved a sigh of relief. It is time for summer vacation to begin. So far the weather has not been very good. Hopefully it will warm up soon. I guess I should order some ray ban sunglasses at nineapair in anticipation of a nice warm summer. Now I am off to just relax and do nothing for the day.

With only 2 weeks left for school, it’s graduation time! Last week, I received some promotional offers for Graduation Photo Cards. So I have been thinking of making some for C. I know she’s only graduating from first grade but I figure if I do one for her every year, it will make a great memory book for her. It’s also a good way to inform the extended family about the milestones in her life. I think that is a great idea. Time to start looking for a good photo.
